The Sindh Minister for Education, Sardar Ali Shah, chaired a Steering Committee meeting in which the official schedule for the academic year 2026-27 was finalized.
The committee reviewed and approved the start of the academic year, admission timelines, examination schedules, and holiday periods.
According to the statement, it was decided that the academic year 2026-27 will commence from April 1, 2026. Admissions up to the ninth grade will continue from March 1 to March 31, 2026.
Examinations for ninth and tenth grades will be held from March 30 to April 15, 2026. The results of the tenth grade will be announced on June 1, while the ninth-grade results will be released on June 15, 2026.
Admissions to the eleventh grade will be completed under the Central Admission Policy from June 1 to the last week of July 2026. Similarly, examinations for the eleventh and twelfth grades will be held from April 15 to April 30, 2026. The results for the twelfth grade will be announced on June 15, while the eleventh-grade results will be issued on July 1, 2026.
Students from first to third grades will be promoted to the next grade without examinations. Examinations for fourth to eighth grades will be conducted from March 1 to March 15, 2026.
The meeting approved summer holidays from June 1 to July 31, 2026, and winter holidays from December 21 to December 31, 2026. Declaring 2026 as the Year of Environmental Awareness, the meeting also directed all educational institutions to conduct tree-planting campaigns and encourage every student and teacher to plant at least one tree.
