KARACHI: Additional Inspector-General (AIG) of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon ordered the immediate removal of encroachments from different areas of the city within two days.
“Strict action would be taken against the concerned officials if they failed to remove the illegal settlements in respective areas,” Ghulam Nabi Memon said in a letter issued today (Friday).
According to the letter, Additional IGP will visit different areas of Karachi to observe the encroachment situation. “Strict departmental action will be taken against the concerned officers if any such encroachment found in their respective areas,” he added.
All District SSPs, SDPOs, SHOs, SODSPs, Traffic officials were informed about the spots where the smooth flow of traffic was adversely affected mainly on account of encroachments.
Ghulam Memon ordered taking serious measures for ending all such encroachments, which caused hindrance to the traffic flow. He said that district police would be available for help and guidance of the traffic police to this effect.
The city police chief also directed the traffic police to submit a detailed report regarding the causes of traffic accidents and removal of the encroachment within two days.
