Renowned Pakistani actress Zara Tareen has confirmed that her marriage to actor Faran Tahir ended in divorce, revealing that their relationship had effectively ended just four months after the wedding.
In a candid conversation on Frieha Altaf’s podcast, Zara disclosed that although the legal process of divorce took time, the couple had separated soon after their marriage in November 2021.
She explained that she and Faran Tahir, who is 20 years her senior, began talking during the COVID-19 pandemic when his brother approached her with a film offer. Their professional connection soon turned personal, leading to marriage.
However, Zara revealed that soon after the wedding, she discovered that certain facts about Faran’s personal life had been concealed from her. “I was not told the whole truth,” she said, adding that she learned about “serious matters” only after marriage.
The actress stated that these hidden details made it impossible for her to continue the relationship. “These weren’t small lies; some major truths were kept from me,” she said.
Zara also shared that she had experienced her parents’ divorce in 2016, which deeply affected her outlook on relationships. After returning from the U.S. to Pakistan, she lived with her mother before her marriage to Faran Tahir.
The couple’s separation had been rumored since 2023, but neither had confirmed it until now. Zara’s latest remarks mark her first public acknowledgment that her marriage had ended shortly after it began.
