KARACHI: Disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain has announced to remain ‘neutral’ in the current political situation and support the right side.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail reached out to Aamir Liaquat Hussain as part of efforts to placate disgruntled dissident lawmakers ahead of the no-confidence agains the prime minister.
Speaking after the meeting, Amir Liaquat announced that he would remain neutral and will support the right side and truth. He reaffirmed being part of the the PTI and said he will announce his decision at an appropriate time.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Aamir Liaquat Hussain held discussions on the current political situation and mutual interests.
While talking to journalists after the meeting, the governor said, “I’m here not placate anyone but to have a cup of tea with my brother. We talked about the no-confidence motion. Aamir Liaquat is a priceless asset and his conscience cannot be bought.”
Ismail said that a market is established at the Sindh House Islamabad in which conscience of lawmakers is being auctioned. “Our agencies are informing the prime minister about everything and their files are being compiled. Imran Khan will come out as the winner and he will never leave anyone.”
It must be noted that PTI MPA Muhammad Ali Aziz was not present on the occasion. Amir Liaquat Hussain had reportedly requested not to invite the elected MPA of his constituency to the meeting.
Speaking to a private channel, PTI MPA Aziz strongly lamented horse trading of lawmakers ahead of the no-confidence motion, saying he was a worker of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said that he has submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly against the deployment of police commandoes at the Sindh House in Islamabad.
