Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held a press conference in Rawalpindi on Saturday to review the country’s counter-terrorism operations in 2025.
During the DG ISPR (Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry) press conference on January 6, 2026, he shared a video clip featuring Indian TV anchor Arnab Goswami.

This quip highlighted the mockery of portraying Goswami’s aggressive style as serious “intellectual” commentary on India-Pakistan issues or alleged Indian involvement in terrorism.
The laughter stemmed from the perceived absurdity or over-the-top nature of Goswami’s rhetoric, which is often seen as hyperbolic in Pakistani media circles.
The DG ISPR used the clip to sarcastically underscore what he portrayed as India’s “political-terror nexus” or propaganda efforts.
The clip apparently showed Goswami in one of his typical high-intensity, anti-Pakistan rants. When the video played, journalists in the room laughed.
The DG ISPR noticed and responded with a sarcastic remark: “Why are you laughing? It’s their ‘intellectual,’” accompanied by a smile.
Goswami, known for his outspoken anti-Pakistan commentary, is frequently referenced in media rivalries between India and Pakistan.
Noticing the reaction, DG ISPR remarked, “Why are you laughing? He is their intellectual person,” drawing attention to the contrast in media perspectives and underscoring his point about the political-terror nexus.
The press conference was aimed at showcasing Pakistan’s counter-terrorism progress and operational successes while also highlighting the broader geopolitical and media context influencing regional narratives.
