The water level in Rawal Dam has surged to 1748.40 feet, prompting authorities to announce the opening of the dam’s spillways tomorrow (Sunday) at 6:00 AM.
The spillways will remain open until the water level is brought down to 1746.00 feet — a process expected to take approximately five hours.
To ensure public safety, the local administration has issued a precautionary advisory, urging residents to avoid unnecessary movement near the dam.
Fishermen and boating enthusiasts have been strictly instructed to stay away from the water during the spillway operation.
Authorities emphasized that these measures are essential to manage the water inflow and prevent any potential overflow-related hazards.
