Samsung has reduced the price of its Galaxy A56 smartphone in Pakistan by Rs7,000, bringing the official price down from Rs150,999 to Rs131,000 on its website.
The Galaxy A56 is part of Samsung’s popular A-series, which originally launched with budget-friendly models like the A50, priced under Rs50,000. However, over the years, the A-series has steadily shifted toward the premium mid-range segment. Previous models such as the A51, A52, A53, A54, and A55 were widely appreciated for offering premium features at lower prices than Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S line.
Powered by the Exynos 1480 processor, the Galaxy A56 runs Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7. It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,900 nits peak brightness. The phone sports a premium build with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides and an aluminium frame, along with IP67-rated water and dust resistance.
In terms of photography, the device is equipped with a triple camera setup: a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. The front houses a 12MP camera capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and stereo speakers for enhanced audio.
Despite the price cut, many Pakistani consumers still feel that Samsung’s mid-range phones are overpriced compared to alternatives from other brands. This perception has led many budget-conscious buyers to consider Android rivals such as Redmi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Infinix, and Tecno.
For example, the Galaxy A16 — priced at around Rs62,000 — comes with a dated notch display, 90Hz refresh rate, 50MP camera, and 25W charging. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 14 Pro, available for Rs53,900, offers a more modern punch-hole display, 120Hz refresh rate, 100MP camera, 33W fast charging, and a larger battery. It also includes 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, providing significantly better value.
Nonetheless, Samsung continues to hold a strong reputation in Pakistan for its reliable hardware, timely software updates, and durable build quality — reasons that still keep many loyal users onboard, even at a premium price.
