Pakistan’s young cueist Muhammad Hasnain Akhtar delivered a dominant performance in the IBSF Under-17 World Snooker Championship final, clinching the title against Wales’s Riley Powell at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama, Bahrain on Friday.
16-year-old Hasnain Akhtar delivered an outstanding performance in the final of the Under-17 event of the championship, claiming the title with 4-0 score.
Earlier, Muhammad Asif of Pakistan has advanced to the final of the Masters category at the IBSF World Snooker Championships in Bahrain, following a 4-2 victory over India’s Manan Chandra in the semifinal.
The 42-year-old cueist from Faisalabad, a three-time IBSF World Amateur Champion (2012, 2019, 2024) and recipient of the Pride of Performance Award in 2015, opened the match with a commanding 118-6 win in the first frame. Although he dropped the next two frames, Asif rebounded strongly by winning three consecutive frames to seal his place in the final.
