Muhammad Asif of Pakistan has advanced to the final of the Masters category at the IBSF World Snooker Championships in Bahrain, following a 4-2 victory over India’s Manan Chandra in the semifinal.
The 42-year-old cueist from Faisalabad, a three-time IBSF World Amateur Champion (2012, 2019, 2024) and recipient of the Pride of Performance Award in 2015, opened the match with a commanding 118-6 win in the first frame. Although he dropped the next two frames, Asif rebounded strongly by winning three consecutive frames to seal his place in the final.
He is set to face Brijesh Damani in the championship match, which will take place on Friday at 6:00 PM local time in Bahrain (8:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time), as announced by the IBSF via Instagram.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s emerging talent Hasnain Akhtar has secured a place in the final of the IBSF World U17 Snooker Championship after defeating Poland’s Oliwier Nizialek 4-0 in the semifinal.
The IBSF World Snooker Championships are currently underway in Manama from July 13 to 24, featuring top amateur players competing in the Masters and youth divisions.
