RAWALPINDI: At least eight suspected terrorists were killed in an operation by armed forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan.
According to a statement released to media, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that Pakistani security forces engaged a group of terrorists referred to by the military as “khwarij” near the Afghanistan border in North Waziristan.
The ISPR said eight of these individuals — described as “Indian proxies” belonging to a group called “Fitna al Khwarij” — were “sent to hell” during the operation, while weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
ISPR reiterated its position that the Afghan Taliban regime has failed to secure its side of the border, and called on Kabul to prevent the use of Afghan soil for cross-border militant activities targeting Pakistan.
The statement concluded by affirming that security forces remain committed to ongoing counter-terrorism operations under the “Azm e Istehkam” framework, aimed at eliminating “foreign-sponsored terrorism.”
