An elderly citizen of Rawalpindi was kidnapped by dacoits from the Kacha area through a honey trap for ransom.
According to details, 70-year-old Mahmood Baig, a resident of the Morgah area of Rawalpindi, was kidnapped through a honey trap in Multan. The dacoits later sent a video of him in handcuffs to his family on WhatsApp and demanded a huge ransom in exchange for his release.
According to the police, the dacoits are demanding Rs 10 million in cash, two iPhones, and two watches for the release of Mahmood Baig. The dacoits have also withdrawn Rs 300,000 from his bank account.
A case has been registered at the Morgah police station on the request of Mahmood Baig’s son, Majid Qureshi.
Investigating officers say that Mahmood Baig was called to Multan through a honey trap on September 16, where he parked his motorcycle near a friend’s house near the railway station and went to meet the woman, and then disappeared.
Police say that the case was registered on October 1 and investigations are underway. According to authorities, the kidnappers are in the Kacha area, which is located along the Indus River and is considered a haven for criminals.
