Terrorists opened fire on troops from across the walled border in the Kurram area near the Afghan border, killing at least three soldiers, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
The military’s media wing of the Armed Forces said that soldiers were guarding the walled border near Kharlachi when they came under fire from the Sarchar region of Afghanistan.
Three troops were martyred in the ensuing exchange of fire.
Naik Muhammad Rehman, 32, of Karak, Naik Muawaiz Khan, 34, of Jamrud, and Sepoy Irfanullah, 27, of Dargai were among those who embraced martyrdom.
According to ISPR, troops’ retaliatory fire resulted in significant casualties for terrorists over the border.
The military denounced the use of Afghan soil for terror activities against Pakistan. The military also stated that it expected the Afghan government to take the appropriate steps to prevent similar situations from happening again.
