A new report shows that 201 Afghan students are studying in different universities across Balochistan.
The report provides details about where these students are enrolled and what changes are taking place in education policies.
At the University of Balochistan, 84 Afghan students are continuing their studies. BUITEMS (Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences) has 59 Afghan students in various programs.
The University of Loralai has 22 students, while 36 Afghan girls are studying at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University in Quetta.
Many Afghan students have already gone back to Afghanistan before completing their degrees. University officials said that students who want to return and study again must first get valid visas. They advised that no one should attempt to continue studies without proper documents.
Officials confirmed that the quota for Afghan students in Balochistan universities has now ended. Earlier, special seats were available for them under this quota. Now, all students must apply through regular admission channels.
The change comes as Pakistan and Afghanistan review their education and visa systems. Both countries are trying to make student movement more organized and lawful.
