ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has killed 17 more people in Pakistan and brought the total death toll to 6,638.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 641 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours and the total number has reached 322,452. In Pakistan, 9,174 patients of coronavirus are undergoing treatment, and 36,640 have recovered.
The coronavirus has killed 2,288 people in Punjab and 2,574 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,265, 194 in Islamabad, 146 in Balochistan, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 81 in Azad Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has reached 17,913. At least 101,425 cases have been reported in Punjab, 141,474 in Sindh, 38,565 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,644 in Balochistan, 4,033 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 3,98 in Azad Kashmir.

There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for coronavirus patients in hospitals is 1,920. There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.
The first death has been reported in Pakistan due to ‘COVID-19 re-infection’ when a senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rashid Rabbani died due to complications of coronavirus infection in Karachi earlier on Thursday.
