A 14-year-old domestic worker, Iqra, was allegedly tortured to death by her employer in Abbottabad.
According to details, the accused, Haris Latif, who allegedly raped and tortured Iqra to death, has been arrested. The deceased minor girl had been working at the accused’s house for the past one year.
The postmortem reports confirms that the accused, Haris Latif, had been raping 14-year-old Iqra for a long time, while the report also confirmed that the girl had been tortured. Dr. Raheel, the Deputy Medical Superintendent, stated that the deceased, Iqra, was frequently deprived of food and water.
Police officials reported that the girl’s father is employed at a hotel and was informed of his daughter’s death by law enforcement authorities.
According to DSP Siraj Khan, the accused has been taken into custody and transferred to the police station, where further investigation is currently underway.
Earlier in April, a 10-year-old domestic worker suffered the same fate in Lahore’s Hanjarwal area.
The maid, named Sonia, was working at the residence of Farrukh Bashir and his wife Nosheen, where she reportedly endured weeks of physical abuse. Her mother, Asma Bibi, a resident of Arifwala, had sent her daughter to work in the household three months ago through a relative, Sheikh Fiyaz, for a monthly wage of Rs8,000.
