FAISALABAD: As many as 10 people were killed and six others injured in different rain-related incidents in Faislabad on Tuesday.
As per details, heavy rains lashed the city and its surrounding areas last night, as a result of which the roof of a three-room house in Tandlianwala town collapsed.
Among those who died were a woman, her three minor sons, and two daughters and an 18-year-old boy. Two more family members sustained serious injuries, sources said.
Sources further said the second incident took place on Abbaspur Road in which the roof of a house collapsed following a thunderstorm, killing three siblings. Four other people of the family including two girls were injured during the mishap.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives due to caving in of roof in Tandlianwala area of Faisalabad and sought a report from the Commissioner.
He also expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of human lives in different accidents that occurred in Faisalabad, Kasur and Multan and extended sympathies to the bereaved heirs, said a handout on Tuesday.
The CM also directed the authorities concerned to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured and asked the administration to supervise the rescue operations.
